Just a reminder to everyone about autocross in Yoder this Sunday. It's $20 for 10 runs, which is a really great deal. There's a link to the registration just below.

How is an autocross on tires and brakes just out of curiousity?

DAMN! Those are some great deals. I was at an event on the Wilmington pad here in Ohio and I paid $35 for 3 runs. Granted they were three really long runs.

More experienced persons than I could tell you more accurately, but...
I don't know how my brakes are holding up. I've done something like 6 or 7 events on my tires, and they seem to be holding up very well. Only a little wear on the sides

Thanks. I'm curious because if the opportunity comes up I would be very tempted. It looks like a lot fun. But at the same time my car is a DD so I would like my tires and brakes to last for awhile. I've been helping my dad get his Mustang ready for a track day but I don't think you need to go to the same extremes for an autocross.

Eventually! Is high temp brake fluid recommened?

No clue. Doubt it. You only run for a minute at a time.

Nice!
My neighbor's bringing his C6 Vette. You'll have to ride with him to see how it does.

JayhawkJake's totally right. It basically does no harm to your car.
I took my S2000 with almost no rear tire tread and burned barely off. My intention was to burn the rest off and buy new tires, and I still drove it for a week afterward. I've got no idea about the brake fluid either, but I don't think you're going fast enough to do any real brake harm.
I was skeptical about hurting the car too, but it's the perfect environment to dip your feet in the racing pool. You get the adrenaline rush, but it's such a well-contained environment that you can't hurt yourself or the car.

I was trying to talk my dad into bringing one of the old Mustangs just for shits and giggles.

The one with the Cobra? I heard he registered the cobra. I rode in an early C6 last weekend, they're fast.

Ah, he told me he registered the Corvette cause the Cobra was having some running issues, but who knows. They're both cool cars.

I run my 197k mile '91 Toyota. It's not that bad. *fingers crossed nothing breaks this weekend*

Thanks! I guess I have to try it then. After I get a few things for my car first.
